Biography
From Louisville, Kentucky, singer-songwriter Casey Jame first displayed her affinity for singing at two years old and stepped onto live stages by nine. After picking up piano and guitar, she began matching melodies to poems she had already composed and soon collaborated on material with Matt Bronleewe, Phil Madeira, and Lynn Nichols. At thirteen she issued her first recording, the five-song EP Casey Jame, which Nichols produced in Nashville. The 2008 project brimmed with upbeat energy, tween perspectives, and catchy pop choruses while also revealing a voice of considerable strength; its clean-cut, relatable persona pointed toward a promising path in mainstream pop. Possibly swayed by youthful spontaneity, she altered her surname to Jaimes in 2010 after watching a contestant named James on American Idol and turned her attention to a follow-up studio effort.
