Biography
Cash Campbell fully absorbs the transformations reshaping country music toward the close of the 2010s, folding in touches of contemporary R&B and EDM while maintaining the traditional architecture of his country compositions. Those influences surface clearly across his first single from 2017, “Cannonball,” and the follow-up track issued the next year, “Little Things.” Growing up in the wider Dallas region, he began performing rock & roll during his teenage years before shifting his focus to country with age. Once committed to a country career, he joined forces with Nashville’s Chris LaCorte and Swedish songwriter Peer Astrom—who had previously assisted with music supervision for Glee—to craft a forward-looking, cross-genre country style. That hybrid approach first appeared on “Cannonball,” which reached listeners in September 2017. He soon issued the next release, “Don’t Wanna Think About It,” before unveiling his third single, “Little Things,” in the first months of 2018.
