Biography
Cassidy Mann, a Canadian singer and songwriter, weaves wistful yet relatable material from serene electronic textures, acoustic guitar, and poetic lyrics that trace the peaks, valleys, and gray zones of romantic bonds. Raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she spent her early years mastering guitar and penning songs shaped by the oral storytelling customs of Sagkeeng First Nation, the Indigenous community tied to her family. At age 14 she earned a nomination for Aboriginal Recording of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. After moving to Toronto in the wake of a breakup, she began cutting demos. Eager to retain tighter command of her studio vision, she studied production methods and, alongside friend and producer Roman Clarke, arrived at a hybrid palette that merged electronic pop with her acoustic foundation. The sessions yielded the streaming hits “Tropical Sour Candy” and “Election Night,” both featured on her 2022 debut EP, If It's Not Forever.
