Biography
Emerging in 1996 from the dissolution of Boston hardcore act Backbone, drummer Dave Green and guitarist Christian Pupecki formed Cast Iron Hike with Jacob Brennen on vocals, Michael Gallager on guitar, and Peter Degraff on bass. Maintaining the short, fast, and loud style of their earlier band, Cast Iron Hike promptly scheduled multiple performances across the East Coast ahead of issuing debut EP The Salmon Drive in 1996. Victory Records followed with the album Watch It Burn in 1997, while Trustkill Records released a self-titled EP in 1998.
