Biography
Originating from Mississippi in the summer of 2005, the nu metal outfit CastorTroy coalesced around vocalist Chris Scott, guitarist Michael Dunnaway, drummer Matt White, and bassist Marcus Trebotich, though care should be taken not to mix them up with the screamo Castor Troy from Wisconsin, the hardcore Castor Troy from the U.K., or the Canadian DJ of the same name. Their live show gained strength rapidly, leading to victory in the Bud Big Stage Search III band competition, which earned them a spot performing at CPR Fest X in Biloxi, MS, before an audience of nearly 10,000, followed by joint appearances alongside Staind, Saliva, and Hinder. The year 2006 saw the issuance of their debut full-length CD, Where Do I Go from Here, succeeded shortly thereafter by a live DVD. Momentum building within the band attracted the attention of Chris Henderson, guitarist for 3 Doors Down, who proposed recording their subsequent effort, the EP Patience Above slated for an August 2007 release.
