Cathy Segal-Garcia

Cathy Segal-Garcia ranked among Los Angeles’s premier jazz vocalists during the 1990s, possessing both a lovely timbre and a bold approach to improvisation that extended even to familiar standards. Having begun performing on the East Coast at twelve years old, she relocated to L.A. in 1976, issued recordings on her own CSG imprint as well as Japan’s Koyo Sounds label, and maintained a regular presence on stages across Japan and Europe.
