Cats in Space

In 2015 the West Sussex town of Horsham gave rise to Cats in Space, a group conceived by guitarist Greg Hart and drummer Steevi Bacon. They soon recruited vocalist Paul Manzi, bassist Jeff Brown, guitarist Dean Howard and keyboard player Andy Stewart, after which the ensemble began shaping songs rooted in the classic power-pop and rock sounds of the 1970s and 1980s. Their debut album, Too Many Gods, emerged that October and included guest appearances by 10cc’s Mick Wilson and the Sweet’s Andy Scott.

At the start of 2017 the band toured with Thunder and secured an opening slot at Phil Collins’ concert in London’s Hyde Park. Scarecrow, their second studio album, arrived at the end of August 2017, prompting a subsequent European trek alongside Deep Purple. Early the following year they issued their first live recording, Cats Alive!, then spent the balance of 2018 writing and tracking a third album. Released in early 2019, that album carried the title Day Trip to Narnia.
