Biography
Mathias Lodmalm, the Swedish death metal icon, formed Cemetary 1213 as an unfinished bid to revive the band Cemetary that first earned him recognition, after several years recording under the Sundown name. Enlisting guitarist Manne Engström, bassist Vesa K., and drummer Christian Silver, a former Sundown member, Lodmalm pursued a vigorous goth metal approach comparable to the later output of his original group, yielding Cemetary 1213’s sole release, the 2000 album The Beast Divine. With nothing further materializing over the following years, plans for a new record have shifted to the longstanding Cemetary identity.
