Biography
In 2000 the seasoned Bay Area singer Michael Cerda put together the Cerda Project for the sole purpose of cutting the album It’s Not Over. Former members of the Travis Larson Band—guitarist Travis Larson, drummer Dale Moon, and bassist Jennifer Young—supplied the instrumental support, and the sessions proved so stimulating that Cerda resolved to keep the lineup intact. Blending progressive pop with jam-band, acoustic-jazz, rock, and old-wave touches, the musicians produced some of the most memorable sounds then circulating in Northern California. The ensemble adopted the name Big Breakfast in July 2001 and issued the striking EP Over Easy not long afterward.
