Biography
Originating in Atlanta, Georgia, the alternative rock group The Chain Poets formed around singer/guitarist Greg Kaegen, drummer Michael Patrick, and bassist T. Penland Cone. The three musicians refined their poppy alternative rock sound through repeated performances until they had cultivated a reliable and widely admired live act. Their self-titled debut album arrived in spring 2002, after the band recorded a cover of “Help!” that came within a hair’s breadth of landing on the star-studded I Am Sam soundtrack yet ultimately did not appear.
