CHAMPS

British duo Champs hail from Niton village on the Isle of Wight, where brothers Michael and David Champion form the lineup. After pursuing separate band projects, the siblings united in 2011 to begin writing songs as a team. Online listeners took notice by 2013 when the track "My Spirit Is Broken." surfaced. Their atmospheric, harmony-driven indie pop bridges the '60s psychedelia of the Beatles with the angular indie rock of acts like Hot Chip, a style that helped earn critical acclaim for the 2014 debut Down Like Gold on PIAS Recordings. In 2015 the group returned with Vamala, again on PIAS and this time produced by Dimitri Tikovoi. The Hard Interchange, their third full-length album, followed in 2019.
