Chandeliers

Chandeliers fuse art rock, Krautrock, and avant-garde sources with dancefloor energy, yielding kaleidoscopic electronic jams that remain artful yet accessible. The quartet of Cameron Brand, Chris Kalis, Harry Brenner, and Scott McGaughey had previously performed alongside adventurous indie rock acts such as Icy Demons, Killer Whales, and Michael Columbia; in 2004 they turned to electronic music as relief from Chicago's chilly winters and made their live debut later that year at the University of Chicago. Two years afterward came their first release, the Circulation single, followed between 2008 and 2010 by the albums The Thrush, Dirty Moves, and Roulé—a split with like-minded Chicagoans Mahjongg—that further exposed the band's entrancing energy. The grooves extended through Founding Fathers, issued in summer 2012.
