Biography
Chandos, an angular punk trio, came together toward the end of 2010 when three roommates—drummer Julian Moore, singer and guitarist Dan Coulson, and bassist Sean Tracy—decided to form a band. Having spent their formative years immersed in the D.I.Y. music communities of Boston and New Hampshire, the musicians crafted a style blending the raw vitality of regional punk with the edgy, loose-limbed approach reminiscent of ragged 1990s indie rock acts such as Polvo, Sebadoh, and Dinosaur Jr. For several years after starting out, the group experimented with different names while performing live and issuing self-released EPs under monikers including Big Shot Weekend, Monday, and Chandeliers. They adopted the name Chandos permanently in 2014, issuing their first full-length album, Rats in Your Bed, at the beginning of 2015.
