Charivari

Charivari derives its moniker from a longstanding Louisiana custom involving nocturnal celebrations that extend until dawn. The ensemble delivers Cajun music infused with youthful energy and profound emotional resonance, earning endorsements from New Orleans icons Michael Doucet and Sam Broussard that positioned the group among the leading Cajun acts active in 2000. During the 1990s, Rounder Records issued multiple recordings by the band, followed by the release of I Want to Dance With You to inaugurate the subsequent decade. Spring 2005 saw the arrival of their album Trip to the Holiday Lounge.
