Charlie Boy Gang

In the early 2010s, Southern rap duo Charlie Boy Gang—comprising Deondre Thomas, known as Pimpin Duke, and Ronnie Welch, known as Mechie Man—achieved major regional dance success with “Beef It Up,” a track paying tribute to cruising through their hometown of Scottdale, Georgia. Originally assembled in 2008 as a five-member crew, the group began appearing at open-mike events and steadily drew interest from Atlanta’s hip-hop circles. Dropping in 2011, “Beef It Up” swiftly emerged as a dance sensation throughout Georgia, with “Stomp Da Flo” and “Souljaz” arriving next; their full-length album Scottdale Unincorporated then surfaced digitally in early 2013. The duo later paused activities to pursue solo work, yet they regrouped in 2015, aligned with MEK7 Entertainment, and delivered the single “The Way U Is” in 2016.
