Biography
Hailing from Detroit’s suburban outskirts, alternative rock outfit Charm Farm blended the city’s homegrown techno pulses with the raw proto-punk drive of the Stooges and the MC5. Fronted by singer/songwriter Dennis White, a Berklee School of Music alumnus from Boston, the project issued its first recordings under the Charm Farm banner in 1989 before White joined the techno collective Inner City for several years. After exiting that group, White relaunched Charm Farm and assembled the final lineup by recruiting guitarist Steve Zuccaro, drummer Eric Meyer, bassist Dino Zoyes, and synth player Ken Roberts. Once the band had cultivated a loyal regional audience across the Motor City, it landed a Mercury contract and delivered the album Pervert in 1995.
