Biography
Chase Elodia works as a composer and drummer, shaping music that fuses modern creative jazz, electronica, and lyrical indie rock into an engaging, philosophically minded whole. His first full-length record, Portrait Imperfect, appeared in 2022.
Now based in Brooklyn, New York, Elodia concentrated on both music and literature while in college. Freelance drumming work has placed him alongside saxophonist Morgan Guerin, vocalist Emma Frank, and singer/songwriter Allegra Krieger. He also holds steady positions in the Alex Hamburger Quartet and the electronic and jazz collective Echoes. Recognition includes a 2020 grant from the Boulder County Arts Association and the 2021 ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award for the composition “The World Is Now Your Own.” Following a spring 2022 fellowship at the MacDowell Artist Residency in New Hampshire, he issued his debut album, Portrait Imperfect, which spotlighted his genre-bending ensemble and its vocalist Claire Dickson.
