During the blues scene of Depression-era Chicago, an obscure ensemble known as the Chicago Black Swans performed uptown hokum as singers and instrumentalists. Whether blues legend Big Bill Broonzy participated in the group remains uncertain, as does his potential authorship of their two suggestive recordings from 1937, namely "Don't Tear My Clothes" and "You Drink Too Much."
