Biography
In 2004 the Leeds, England-based quartet Chickenhawk emerged as a metal/punk/chaos hybrid, styling themselves a chaotic synthesis of Naked City, Mr. Bungle, Melvins, Harvey Milk, et al. The group quickly drew notice for its relentless sound and transfixing rhythm section once the self-released debut demo appeared in 2005. A split release with I Breathe Spears and With Scissors arrived a year later. Throughout 2007 Chickenhawk remained deep in the studio, tracking and producing the material that became the band’s debut full-length, God Helmet, issued in 2008 on Sound Devastation.
