Biography
Chris Mills, an Americana singer and songwriter, entered the world as an Army brat whose childhood unfolded across homes in both the United States and Germany. During adolescence he put down roots in southern Illinois, absorbing the pioneering insurgent country approach of regional stalwarts Uncle Tupelo. High school found him leading a speed metal outfit as well, though his sound gradually embraced a stronger roots emphasis in the time that followed. After signing with the Chicago indie Sugar Free, he put out his first EP, Nobody's Favorite, in 1997, then delivered the full-length Every Night Fight for Your Life in early 1998. Kiss It Goodbye appeared in mid-2000.
