Chris Price works as an American record producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. Already established in those roles as a musician and engineer, he issued his first solo album, Homesick, in 2012. Born Kristian Price Perez in Miami, Florida, he is the son of Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Rudy Pérez. His initial band, Price, formed as a family project with siblings Michael and Corey plus drummer Alex Ibanez. Shortly after assembling, the group signed to Geffen Records and moved to Los Angeles. The band produced a handful of singles—two of them placed in feature films—and an unreleased LP before disbanding in 2009. That year Price launched a power pop project with Rooney guitarist Taylor Locke. The resulting act, Taylor Locke & the Roughs, released two studio albums, Grain & Grape and Marathon, in 2010, then issued the live set Live at Rosalita's in 2012. In 2013 Price co-produced The Soul of All Natural Things, the long-awaited second album by ’70s psych-folk singer Linda Perhacs and her first release in 44 years. He simultaneously began work with power pop icon Emitt Rhodes on the latter’s first new material since the early ’70s; the sessions yielded Rainbow Ends, which appeared in 2016. Stop Talking, Price’s second solo album, followed the next year.
