Biography
Christon Ingram, whose talents span modeling, athletics, singing, performance, and acting, came into the world on June 27, 1986, in Decatur, Georgia, as the daughter of Brian and Callie Ingram. She demonstrated an early affinity for music by penning songs and poems from the age of seven and participating in the church choir, where her first solo vocal performance occurred at age eleven. Her initial breakthroughs, however, arrived through sports—an outcome made less unexpected by her mother’s background as a college basketball player and her father’s several seasons in the National Football League, which included a journey to Super Bowl XX with the New England Patriots. At a height of 6'4'', she stood out as a basketball standout for all four years at Stone Mountain High School and attracted multiple college scholarship offers. She accepted a full basketball scholarship from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she began work on a degree in broadcasting and communications alongside a minor in communications management. Playing forward for UAB’s women’s basketball team, Ingram earned recognition as a strong rebounder and scorer, posting several double-doubles during her collegiate career. After receiving her broadcasting degree in 2008, she shifted her focus to modeling and singing, securing a modeling agreement with Imperative Talent Management. She cut a version of the Bee Gees’ “Emotions” as a birthday gift for her mother; the producer overseeing the session, struck by her composure and vocal ability, asked her to return for additional work. Her singing career thereby commenced in earnest. After issuing a handful of singles that included “Tall Enuff” and the breakthrough track “Never Ending Party,” she delivered her debut R&B album, Celebrate, in 2012 at Sensational Sound Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
