Christopher Caouette, an American composer and multi-instrumentalist, produces music defined by sweeping cinematic scope and a rich integration of new age, Celtic, fantasy, electronic, and progressive rock idioms. Active since the late 1980s, the prolific creator has issued recordings through independent outlets such as Etherean and Inner Force, the label he founded. He has supplied scores for film, stage, and video games, applying his energetic perspective to every project. Standouts among his catalog include the 2009 album Alandar and the 2022 award-winning Tale of the Oakenwish, both of which ranked prominently on the Zone Music Reporter charts.

A Connecticut native, Caouette started composing during the 1980s and delivered his debut collection, The Farthest Reaches, in 1987. Drawing on sources that stretch from film composers like Hans Zimmer to new age figures such as Vangelis and David Arkenstone, he worked independently across the 1990s, fusing fantasy themes with electronic music, worldbeat, Celtic styles, and further influences. He joined the prominent Colorado-based new age label Etherean in the early 2000s, resulting in releases like Ring of Dragons and Dragon Wind. He then launched his own company, Inner Life Force, to oversee his abundant output, among which figured the 2009 album Alandar; that recording reached number five on the new age-reporting Zone Music Charts and was shortlisted for Best Neo-Classical and Electronic Album that year.

Over the ensuing decade he wrote music for video and online games such as Somnea and Island Defense while issuing additional fantasy-oriented albums including 2013's Dream of the Four and 2018's Legends of the Chronicler.

His 2022 collection, Tale of the Oakenwish, proved equally successful, attaining number two on the Zone Music chart and earning the titles Best Virtual Soundtrack and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album from New Age Notes.
