Christopher Ward

While studying at college in Ontario, Canada, Christopher Ward first entered music by performing vocals and guitar. In the late 1970s he secured a solo deal with Warner Music, issuing multiple singles plus the 1978 album Spark of Desire. Early the following decade he joined MuchMusic, Canada’s counterpart to MTV. In 1987 Ward delivered a self-titled solo album and supplied several songs, among them the chart-topping “Black Velvet,” for Alannah Myles’s debut release.
