Biography
Christopher Wilson, an English lutenist, trained under Diana Poulton at the Royal College of Music between 1970 and 1972 before giving his first recital at Wigmore Hall in 1977. His performances and recordings span a wide selection of solo lute works from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Regular vocal partners include Paul Agnew, Rufus Müller, Michael Chance, and Shirley Rumsey, with whom he established the duo Kithara. Wilson created the Lute Group and has appeared alongside the Consort of Musicke, Fretwork, English Baroque Soloists, and Gothic Voices. He currently instructs lute students at Trinity College of Music in London.
