Chuck Girard

Born in the USA, Girard helped establish the rock band Love Song, whose members underwent a comparable “spiritual transformation.” After performing in multiple rock ’n’ roll outfits, he embraced a born-again Christian faith upon affiliating with the Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California. This shift prompted the ensemble to adopt a gentler acoustic approach centered on its lyrical messages while simultaneously inaugurating Girard’s solo recording path. Between the mid- and late 1970s he issued three albums on Good News Records, although none resonated with gospel listeners as powerfully as Love Song’s earlier work.
