Jamaican deejay Chuckleberry channels his deep and raw vocals through an infectious reggae groove, turning music into a vehicle for confronting multiple controversial subjects. Among his boldest recordings are the tracks "No Gay Man", "Honesty Best Policy", "Cost Of Living", "Working Class Woman" and "God Come First", which confront homophobia, religious conviction and the hardships of the working class. He first drew notice during the 1990s by cutting sides for a lengthy list of Jamaican producers. The 1992 album Cost Of Living, issued as his breakthrough release, was helmed by Leggo and Flabba Holt.
