Chus & Ceballos

Chus & Ceballos rank among the house scene’s most sought-after pairings. Each began DJing in their teens, entering the new millennium already seasoned professionals. Chus L. Esteban entered the world in Madrid during December 1971; by sixteen he was performing in neighborhood venues and quickly built a following across Europe. A 1994 residency at Teatro Kapital gave him a weekly platform he continues to occupy. Subsequent engagements in Colombia, Russia, and Israel expanded his reach and cemented his standing abroad. Pablo Ceballos, likewise born in Madrid, first explored techno at fifteen. His gradual shift toward house made a partnership with the established Chus a natural step. In 2001 the two joined forces with agent Carlos Calico to launch Stereo Productions. European distribution partners soon carried their recordings to wider audiences than either had previously reached. Concentrating on remixes, the duo logged placements on more than twenty compilations released in Spain and Portugal. Their joint work offered a fresh alternative to the prevailing somber atmosphere, which they branded the Iberican Sound. Under that banner they issued multiple original tracks, beginning with the 2003 collection One Year of Iberican Sound. By combining cutting-edge production tools with an unceasing tour schedule, Chus & Ceballos secured a lasting position at the forefront of house music, regularly topping dance charts across Europe.
