Biography
Formed in Atlanta during 1993, the rockabilly group known as Cigar Store Indians came together following the dissolution of frontman Ben Friedman's earlier alternative rock outfit, IBM. Recruiting Jim "Low Note" Lavender to handle guitar duties alongside Keith Perissi on bass and Francis "Fast Pedal" Ferran behind the drums, the combo rapidly ascended from local underground favorite to a standout attraction in the Atlanta club circuit. Their initial output arrived via a 1994 cassette issued by a regional imprint, before they unveiled their official debut, the self-titled LP, in 1995.
