Biography
The musical project Circle of Animals took shape in Chicago under the guidance of multi-instrumentalist and respected producer Sanford Parker, whose credits include Minsk and Nachtmystium, together with Bruce Lamont, vocalist of Yakuza. Their shared aim centered on honoring the city's storied industrial music tradition. With that objective in mind, the duo recruited a wide-ranging lineup of guest drummers—Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth, John Herndon from Tortoise, Municipal Waste's Dave Witte, Cephalic Carnage's John Merryman, Unearthly Trance's Darren Verni, and additional players—to perform on the ensemble's debut album Destroy the Light, issued in 2010 through Relapse Records.
