Biography
Jazz singer Clairdee built a devoted following and drew enthusiastic critical praise through her warm, effervescent, and sassy approach, attracting the admiration of legendary vocalist Nancy Wilson. Born Barbara Clairdee in Tucson, AZ, she passed the bulk of her childhood in Denver, CO, yet frequent relocations tied to her Air Force family background gave her wider travels than most youngsters experience. Those journeys introduced her to a broad spectrum of music that quickly captured her affection. At age 14 she began singing, and her strong voice soon led to session work on television commercials. Following her teenage years she relocated to San Francisco, where she sustained her commercial sessions while performing nights in local jazz clubs. Her first album, Destination Moon, came out on the Declare Music label in 2000. The holiday project This Christmas followed in 2003, and two years after that she issued the funky Music Moves.
