Biography
In their hometown of Seattle, Sheila Bommakanti and Lelani LaGuardia launched goth rock/post-grunge outfit Cober in 2000, bringing forth its dark and hazy sounds. Drawing on influences that included Metallica, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Babes in Toyland, and Radiohead, the group issued its first recording, Crashpilot, that same year. Performances at clubs throughout the U.S. helped refine Cober’s moody, seductive rock style into a clearer form. Beginning in 2005, Bommakanti continued Cober as her own solo project. Eulogy appeared the next year, with The Western Cutter following in 2009.
