Biography
Colin Ross maintains registration as a silversmith while standing among the planet’s leading constructors of Northumberland smallpipes. His designs draw directly from the example of 19th-century maker Robert Reid, prompting him to begin crafting his own instruments in the early 1960s. Full-time professionalism followed in 1978. He has since produced Scottish smallpipes pitched in D, C, Bb, and A, as well as Lowland or half-long pipes in G, A, and Bb.
