Biography
Emerging from the Fort Worth, TX, music community as an alt-country and alt-rock performer, Collin Herring made his initial mark in 2002 via the live album Avoiding the Circus. Known for a moodier, darker strain of alt-country-fried rock than most peers, he entered the studio to cut his eclectic first studio release, The Other Side of Kindness, alongside Matt Pence, a producer whose résumé already included work with such unconventional acts as the Polyphonic Spree. Following favorable notices that extended past Texas, Herring sustained his momentum through steady live appearances and by issuing his third album, Past Life Crashing, in 2008.
