Coloma

Rob Taylor provides the vocals and Alex Paulick handles production for the duo Coloma. These English natives now make their home in Germany, where they secured a deal with Mathias Schaffhäuser’s Ware imprint to release their first album, Silverware, in 2002. The pair followed up the next year with Finery, an effort captured at Conny Plank’s studio and issued once more on Ware. That release plunged headlong into unexplored territory, blending minimal dance music with sophisti-pop. In 2005 they delivered Dovetail on Klein, an album with a more organic texture that incorporated a horn section along with additional guest players. Beyond Coloma, Taylor contributed vocals to Schaffhäuser’s version of Icehouse’s “Hey Little Girl,” while Paulick has performed on bass with Kreidler.
