Biography
Although the group began life in the early 90's as the visceral death metal troupe Accessory, Colour Trip adopted a new moniker and direction in 1994 by abandoning that subgenre in favor of a simpler sound. After stripping away their elaborate riffs and buzzsaw guitars, they issued their first album through Massacre Records that same year. Extensive touring alongside Nuclear Assault followed, yet the loss of their recording contract prompted a shift to Armageddon Records in 1995 for the next release. That sophomore album, GroundLevelSexType, adopted a fiercer tone than its predecessor and earned the band support slots on Pro Pain's tour. Late in 1996 the musicians reentered the studio, emerging with Full Time Function, which incorporated a heavier emphasis on hardcore-derived riffing. Relocating from Europe to the U.S. in 1999, they established a new base and spent the next several years writing before unveiling Kill My Super Ego in summer 2002.
