Biography
Emerging from Canada, Common Deer operates as a five-piece chamber pop ensemble whose multi-instrumental lineup generates a densely textured orchestral aesthetic. The Toronto collective formed in 2014 and comprises sibling pairs Sheila on vocals and keyboards with Adam Hart on cello, guitar, and synth, as well as Liam on percussion, synth, and samples alongside Connor Farrell on bass, completed by Graham McLaughlin on vocals, guitar, and violin. What started as a folk-centered project soon shifted toward the nuanced art-pop orientation displayed on EP I, captured with producer Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep) and issued in early 2017.
