Biography
Conehead Buddha originated in upstate New York during 1993, fronted by singer/guitarist Chris Fisher, and quickly gained regional popularity through a fusion of rock, ska, funk, and Latin sounds that drew listeners of jam bands such as Widespread Panic and Phish. Easter Island Vacation served as their debut, appearing as a self-financed cassette, yet consistent road work ultimately cultivated their audience. The 1998 roster featured guitarist Christian deFrancqueville, rhythm guitarist Chris Kennedy, drummer Pete Bencini, trombonist Brian Kaplan, and siblings Terry and Shannon Lynch, who expanded the horn section. Independent releases include the live album Man With The Magik Hat from 1997 and Rockets from 1999, while the group also played several dates on the semi-annual HORDE festival tour.
