Biography
Formed in 1999 by Cougar Estrada, previously a member of Latin Playboys and Estrada Brothers, Conga Punks began as his California-based side project in the alternative Latin rock vein. The seven-piece group fuses Afro-Cuban rhythms, Latin funk, jazz, and alternative pop/rock. Conga Punks entered the local scene upon issuing its self-titled album.
