Biography

Koen Bauweraerts, better known to fans as Coone or DJ Coone, emerged as a driving presence in Belgium’s hardstyle community. He launched into remixing and track production at fifteen and first drew notice through his reinterpretation of Blur’s “Song 2,” issued under the alias “the Artist Also Known As.” Following the 2002 EP Protect the Innocent, he secured a residency at Complex in Sint-Niklaas, launched the Dirty Workz imprint, and staged multiple Coone & the Gang club nights. While working with Fenix as Ambassador Inc, he issued his debut full-length My Dirty Workz in 2008 and continued in 2011 with The Challenge plus the Public Enemies compilation. Among his remix credits are cuts by Linkin Park, Steve Aoki, and Skrillex & Damian Marley; the Aoki connection earned him a Dim Mak deal. In 2013 he dropped the single “Madness” featuring Lil Jon, shared billing with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, and unveiled his third album, Global Dedication.
