Biography
In a bright fusion drawing from psychedelic pop, folk revival, and easy listening acts of the 1960s and 1970s, Corazón align themselves with kindred indie pop acts such as Serpentina and Giorgio Tuma—both of whom also appeared on the Spanish label Elefant during the early 2000s. Carlos and Nando established the duo in Italy in 2001 while enrolled at university. They shifted base to Madrid the next year and, across the ensuing period, produced their earliest demos while becoming immersed in the city’s indie pop circles. Elefant Records issued their debut album, Melodrama, in 2005; the release earned favorable notices throughout Spain, among them coverage in the prominent magazine Rockdelux. Over the next two years the pair tracked new material and toured Spain, at times sharing bills with the Wedding Present and La Casa Azul. Their second album, Nuevo Futura, appeared in spring 2009.
