Cork

In 1996 legendary Jimi Hendrix Experience bassist Noel Redding introduced onetime Spin Doctors guitarist Eric Schenkman to former Mountain drummer Corky Laing, the pair who would soon operate as the rock duo Cork. The three musicians hit the road together in late 1997, and by the start of the next year Schenkman and Laing were already composing material for a planned album. Redding ultimately declined to become a permanent member of the project, yet he still played on several tracks that appeared on Cork’s first LP, the 1999 release Speed of Thought.
