In Glasgow pubs, Richard Wright first heard Danny Saunders delivering acoustic material that favored the blunt force of pub rock over the jagged contours of post-punk. The two guitarists cut a demo with Life Without Buildings drummer Will Bradley, and Domino Recordings responded with an offer. Because Bradley could not commit, the label brought in Franz Ferdinand’s Paul Thomson to handle drums. Bass was then entrusted to Patrick Doyle of the Royal We, another established figure in the local circuit. The completed lineup tracked a full album in 2008; Domino released Correcto’s self-titled debut on February 25, followed by videos for “Do It Better” and “Joni.”
