Biography
Emerging in 1995, Cosmic Avenger originated as the creative vehicle for siblings Gene and John Pompilio. Gene took on drums while John handled guitar, and the pair recruited their associate John Moller to cover keyboards. The resulting trio shaped a melodic strain of indie rock that recalled Weezer fused with the Flaming Lips. Multiple cassettes and independent albums appeared across the 1990s, yet the group only assembled its first nationally distributed release, Something on the Radio, in 2001.
