Biography
Chris Kasarjian, who handled vocals and guitar, joined forces with drummer David Shapiro to launch Count the Stars in Albany, New York, during 1995, when both musicians were twelve. The pop-punk group’s first release on a label, Never Be Taken Alive, appeared through Victory Records in 2003 once bassist Clarke Foley and guitarist Adam Manning had entered the lineup. Earlier, the band had issued its own CDs independently and moved more than 5,000 copies on the strength of its underground following. Count the Stars publicly declared its dissolution at the close of 2003; Manning and Foley later performed with the Reunion Show, which eventually became Action Action.
