Biography
In the early 1960s the singing guitarists Alan Beach, David Kelsey and David Waite assembled in Hull, Yorkshire, England, adopting matching waistcoats and embroidered shirts for their commercial folk sets. Their single ‘I Know Where I’m Going’ entered the lower reaches of the UK Top 50 in spring 1962. They also became the first UK act to record a Paul Simon song, issuing ‘Carlos Dominguez’ in Britain a month before the composer released his own version under the name Jerry Landis in May 1964, and maintained a near-constant presence on the ITV children’s series Five O’Clock Club until its cancellation returned them to obscurity.
