Biography
Coyote Zen blends world beat elements with jazz, new age, and jam band influences, securing praise from critics for its original approach. The endeavor operates under the name of multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Gray Parker, who handles guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion, native flutes, mandolin, and penny whistles. Drawing on years spent in multiple touring groups, this Native Oklahoman incorporates an ancestral background encompassing Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and Cherokee lines. Beyond composing music for numerous film and television productions, he has issued multiple albums as Coyote Zen, among them Blood Of Many Nations and Medicine Dog, the latter appearing in 2001 on his self-established Paw imprint.
