Biography
Craig Handy's saxophone work extends across bop and its more advanced post-bop variants. After studying at North Texas State University from 1981 to 1984, he has performed with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Wynton Marsalis, Roy Haynes, and Abdullah Ibrahim while also appearing on recordings alongside Elvin Jones, Betty Carter, and additional artists. The two Arabesque albums he released in 1991 and 1993 stand out as especially strong statements.
