Biography
Philadelphia-based indie rock outfit Creepoid originated in 2010 when singer and guitarist Sean Miller joined forces with singer and bassist Anna Troxell plus drummer Patrick Troxell. Their sound blended shoegaze textures with melodic noise pop and carried a distinctly grungy edge. The trio issued its first recording, the self-released EP Yellow Life Giver, that same year, then followed it in 2011 with the full-length album Horse Heaven. Noisy rock recalling Sonic Youth, alongside Brit-pop leanings and assorted other influences, surfaced throughout these early efforts, prompting No Idea Records to issue the band’s self-titled sophomore album in March 2014. One month afterward came the Wet EP. Momentum continued as Creepoid shared stages with Dinosaur Jr., Swervedriver, A Place to Bury Strangers, and Against Me!. Early in 2015 the group moved to Collect Records, which released the third album, Cemetery Highrise Slum, later that summer.
