Biography
Born on August 16, 1979, in Tucson, AZ, as Hector Crisanthakis, Crisantes passed his early years in the neighboring towns of Nogales and Culiacan, Mexico. An amateur musician himself, his father sparked both Crisantes and his brother to take up instruments, and the young singer/songwriter recognized his calling after stepping onstage for the first time at age eight. Without any structured training, Crisantes drew on sheer persistence and repeated listens to Beatles and Rolling Stones albums to master guitar, keyboards, drums, and vocals, culminating in the release of his self-titled debut album in 2006, performed entirely in Spanish.
